Evaluation & Treatment
Speak Through Play, Inc. is committed in supporting monolingual and bilingual children with a wide range of speech and language challenges. We offer parent/ caregiver classes, evaluations, diagnosis and therapy that address speech, language and social communication. Please read below to learn more.
Speech
Children with speech difficulties may be experiencing delays/disorders of articulation and phonology, or Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). If your child is difficult to understand because of delayed or unusual speech sound error patterns, we can help by diagnosing and then carefully targeting the difficulty using tailored, structured programs.
Language
Language difficulties may encompass delayed receptive and expressive language skills, late talkers, reduced attention span, specific language impairment, and auditory processing disorders. If your child is delayed in understanding or using spoken language, or if they use unusual grammar or sentence structures, we can help by implementing structured language programs and by supporting parents and professionals working with the child.
Social Communication
Play and social interactions are interrelated. Children experiencing difficulty in either of them will have trouble interacting with peers and adults. They may exhibit poor eye contact, delayed play skills or difficulties using language for different reasons (greet, request), or difficulties following directions. We will work with the child to develop the skill necessary to communicate with others, and thus will be more willing to play with others.

Parent- Caregiver Coaching
Parent coaching in speech-language therapy empowers parents and caregivers with tools and knowledge to support their child's communication development. It offers tailored strategies, and increased involvement. It's cost-effective, supports early intervention, and enhances communication skills.
Parent coaching promotes family support and prevents a child from falling further behind. It streamlines goals and suits various delivery methods, in-person, online, or via phone, including one or both parents or nanny.
The SLP provides education, and strategies to foster communication skills.
This is especially valuable while anticipating school-based therapy, managing waitlist placement, or reducing private therapy costs.
